Farming is the only means of sustenance for the people of Golmourti, a village in Balouchestan. They have no land of their own. The land they cultivate belongs to the big landowners, who also own the only springs and water reservoirs in this rejoin struck by drought. The peasants receive a quarter of the grain harvest by way of payment sufficient for bread and twice a week a hot meal consisting of whey.
